Hotel Bagnitiello

The bus stop right outside was handy, though the buses got very crowded, usually with people heading toward the port in the morning and in the other direction later in the day. If possible, going around to Forio in the morning and having dinner near the port in the evening can make getting around easier. We really enjoyed the hotel. Our room had a lovely sea view and balcony, and eating breakfast while looking out over the water was a highlight. The food was fine, with eggs as the only hot option, and the setting made up for that. The pool was a great place to relax, and the hotel offered good facilities and value for money.

We loved how peaceful it felt here, and the staff were lovely and helpful. The pool terrace sits right over the water, surrounded by greenery, with beautiful views across the bay. This may have been our favorite hotel stay ever. We can’t wait to come back.

The view, breakfast, and pool are nice, but it’s hard to enjoy them after a night without sleep. The air conditioning failed on two of our four nights, leaving the room at 30-35 degrees and us with almost no sleep. Reception charged us the full price and offered no compensation, not even water. Check that the AC works if you stay here, and don’t expect anything back if it doesn’t.

We lost money and our holiday was spoiled after leaving this hotel for another one. We had booked a superior room, but the room we were given was terrible. On the first night, a staff member admitted it wasn’t a superior room. The next day, staff claimed that it was, so we felt they were lying. We couldn’t resolve it at the hotel. When we told the reception employee we were leaving, the response was simply, “yes, ok!” We tried to sort things out with Booking.com, but the hotel also ignored its employees’ request for an explanation. The photos attached show the room we were told was superior. It had an old-fashioned feel, though the booking said we would have a double bed, and it was a double bed. I travel a lot and have never had such a terrible experience or encountered such rude people. The hotel staff still insist it was a superior room. It’s sad they don’t seem to understand what a superior room means in the hotel business. Think twice before booking: there are many other hotels on the island with lovely staff, renovated rooms, and sea-view terraces.
