Hotel delle Rose

We ended up staying just one night because we booked at the last minute and that was all they had, though we'd planned on two. The restaurant menu looked fabulous, but we didn't have time to try it. There is also a nice bar for drinks and appetizers. For a three-star hotel, this place exceeded our expectations and was better than many so-called four-star places. It's impeccably maintained and perfectly located in Cascia. Our room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was a good size, the shower worked well, and the beds were comfortable. There was a fan, but in fall the weather was pleasant enough that we didn't need it. I know some people mention the lack of AC in summer, but for a small religious town, I honestly don't think another hotel has better standards. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice, and the staff were attentive and polite. We loved Cascia and will definitely return and stay here again. Hopefully we'll get to try the restaurant next time.

The Wi-Fi was horrendous. And there was no air conditioning in any of the rooms. When we asked for a fan, we found they were all gone. In the middle of August, sleeping without AC was inhumane, and my family and I had a really hard time getting any rest.

Dinner was great. We picked the set menu, and our server suggested a lovely wine. Breakfast was very good too. The room was clean, the bed really comfortable, and the shower excellent. It wasn't air conditioned, but we asked for a fan and they brought one straight up. A pleasant stay.

I stayed here years ago and it was still nice then, but now it looks visibly old, like its time has passed. The room was freezing, and the heater didn't work, which is a problem in a mountain hotel. The food was definitely not good. Over the course of dinner, some dishes were far too salty, including for several other people, and others were overcooked. Breakfast looked okay at first glance, but within a couple of hours several guests felt unwell and had to vomit. They were all staying at this hotel and had all eaten breakfast. We can't know whether it was breakfast, which we suspect, or dinner, but when we told reception, they denied it and said it must have been something else. We won't return. It's a pity they don't take better care of the hotel.
