The house is a handy base for day trips to Lucca, Livorno, and Florence, and you can’t hear the nearby motorway. We rented the upper floor, which had everything we needed, secure parking, and a smooth check-in. The house and pool were very well cared for, and the owner kept the pool clean and maintained. We were also given clear information about the house and where to shop for daily needs. The main drawback was next door: an enthusiast’s small poultry farm, where several roosters crowed early in the morning. It takes some getting used to, and as the guestbook already mentioned it in 2017, it seems to be an ongoing issue. Without that, it would easily be a five-star property. I still highly recommend the house.
