B&B A Casa Di Amici

A really good place to stay. I'd happily recommend it.

Being close to I Masanielli, Martucci's pizzeria, was a real highlight for us. Reliable sources call it Italy's best, and to us that makes it the center of the world. The B&B is in a quiet, well-lit building with an elevator, and it's easy to get into the city center, even on foot. Google had made the location seem excellent, though in reality it was good rather than excellent. The couple running the property were very capable and helpful. Our room was clean, roomy, and well furnished, though a few things could use attention: hot water took a while to come through, and the drain was sometimes weak enough to be a problem. Breakfast was simple, with the basics like a kettle and coffee pods, rather than a big selection. We're tourists from Lecce and probably quite demanding because we travel a lot, but we think those expectations are reasonable. We'd recommend the place, just not call it excellent.

The palace is an easy walk away, and the location worked perfectly for us. The Masaniello family is 300 meters away, and there's a nearby dairy I'd recommend visiting, with excellent prices. The owners were exceptionally warm and welcoming. We did have a small check-in mix-up because another guest had taken our room keys, but it wasn't the owners' fault and we only had to wait a bit longer. Our room was spacious and lovely, and the pillow was very comfortable. The shower, though, was a real nuisance: too narrow, hard to get out of, and the showerhead was clogged with limescale, so water splashed around. The B&B is an apartment on the top floor, with an elevator.
