Ercole in riposo

I booked around 6 PM for a business trip, and thought the freezing apartment might simply be because there'd been little time to heat it. I turned on the bedroom air conditioning, but after dinner things were just as cold. Then I found the boiler, switched it on, and it immediately started leaking, so I put a bucket underneath. The rooms never warmed up, and I was awake all night. In the morning, the bathroom was cold and the shower flooded because there was no shower stall to keep the water in. I rushed through checkout. I also found a toilet without a seat cover, despite the 'sanitized' label, and the bidet towel was missing. The linens seemed fake. The kitchen didn't help: there were three oranges, one on the way to mold, and the fridge had no water, just a beer that might help me forget. The whole place was a letdown for a work stay. On arrival there wasn't even a sign. I went through a gate into what looked like a farmhouse, with peeling walls, overgrown weeds, dirt roads, and a small courtyard with several cars, some looking like junk. It bore little resemblance to the photos of historic buildings and grand entrances. I called to check that I'd come to the right place, and sadly I had. For work, I can put up with a lot if there's a comfortable bed and bathroom, but this was too much. I'll report it to Booking with several real photos. I've always been wary of photos and reviews, and have learned to spot ones that seem slightly altered. I never expected this, especially since I travel a lot and keep doing so. Be careful.

Spacious, clean rooms and a perfect location. There's indoor parking, and check-in and check-out times were very flexible. Highly recommended!
