We came to this agriturismo for a classical concert hosted by the Summerschool of the Peri-Merulo institute. There was homemade food after the concert, which was nice, though I wished there had been more of their white cheese. The homemade pie looked delicious, but unfortunately it was reserved for the restaurant and wasn't included.

The place is enchanting, and the staff were really friendly. We had lunch with their own wine, a starter, first course, a second to share, and two desserts. The local cured meats were delicious, and the tortelli verdi were outstanding. The pork cheek was wonderful too. I wasn't keen on the tagliatelle, though, they were broken and the pasta felt flimsy. The desserts were homemade, and the pear and walnut tart with ice cream was delicious.

Roberto and his staff deserve credit for such attentive, friendly service. The setting is refined but welcoming, with views across the Reggio hills, and even a walk among the lemon trees, olive trees, and aromatic herbs is a lovely way to spend the day after a meal. Casalia really celebrates Reggio Emilia's traditions, using local ingredients throughout. The menu had well-made tortelli, rice bombs with tasty ragù, and zuppa inglese, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. A great choice if you're after the genuine flavors of the area.
