Il Rifugio Sui Due Golfi

We stayed here for five days last summer during our Amalfi Coast holiday, using it as a base for exploring the area. We booked a three-bedroom room through Booking.com a few weeks ahead. Since we had a rental car, being away from the busy tourist spots suited us, and we could always find free street parking without going far. The hillside location also meant cooler evenings and a light breeze. Antonio greeted us when we arrived, helped with the luggage, and made sure we were settled. He then called a small family restaurant to reserve a table for us. We’d never have found it ourselves, and the local Neapolitan food was delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfast the next morning was a treat: local cheese, prosciutto, bread, vegetables, scrambled eggs, plenty of espresso, and juice. Antonio later told us much of it came from his family farm. He also shared ideas for places to see, ways to get around, and things to avoid. For convenience, he drove us out and picked us up after a full day of sightseeing. He took us to a restaurant with an incredible sunset view over Vesuvius, the suburbs and city of Napoli, the bay, the Amalfi peninsula, and Capri and Ischia in the distance. Antonio was a wonderful host and guide. He only speaks Italian, and we speak just a little, but Google Translate and some Spanish similarities helped us get by. We’d definitely recommend staying here and would like to return.
