Villa Curiel

For exploring the coast and historic places, the location worked really well. In a 10-20 minute drive we could reach the cypress-lined avenues of Bolgheri, the medieval villages of Populonia and Castagneto Carducci, as well as Baratti and Marina di Castagneto. The homemade breakfast with local food was a highlight. The bread, cakes, and jams were all excellent. We stayed in the sea-view suite at Villa Curiel in Castagneto Carducci, January 1-4 2026. Cristiano and Dália have worked with architects to make the rooms feel both personal and professional. We saw some of the other rooms too, and the quality was consistent. The look is refined without feeling overdone, with lovely prints on the walls. The little touches made it feel like a very high-end private home: a kettle, a great tea selection, high-quality mugs, soft pillows, and the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in. The minibar was refreshingly affordable and had a thoughtfully chosen bottle of wine. Still and sparkling water came in glass bottles. The entrance hall was a standout, with bright plants and nicely arranged art, and the breakfast and kitchen spaces flowed together beautifully. Anyone who appreciates culinary design will enjoy the kitchen. Cristiano and Dália were attentive and friendly hosts, and the holiday feeling started as soon as we arrived.
