Lovely place, easygoing people, and a relaxing stay.

Hotel Nature stands out for its modern use of wood, inside and across the facade. It's a lovely, welcoming place near the Castel di Sangro sports area. The rooms are small but kept in good shape, though the bathroom lighting could be better. The spa is really nice. Hotel Natale serves breakfast only, with both sweet and savory options. The manager loves baking, and the cakes she makes are especially worth a mention.

The breakfast is mostly sweet, with delicious cakes, which makes sense since the manager is a pastry chef. If you prefer, you can ask for eggs prepared different ways, plus ham and cheese. There's free parking, and the pool is great, though a little chilly at this altitude. The spa is even better. This is a family-run hotel where guests feel at ease right away. It looks very well kept and, I think, was completely renovated recently. A well-earned four stars.

We had an excellent breakfast with a tempting selection of pastries, and our room came with a lovely terrace. My family and I were there for one night while hiking for the weekend. The place is small but welcoming and well cared for. The triple room felt rather cramped, and the price was a bit steep. I imagine that's partly because the hotel has only 17 rooms and still has to cover its costs. I'd recommend staying here.
