You get a lot for your money because it’s cheap, and I even had the whole dorm to myself. Still, the staff didn’t speak English well. The bathroom heating was broken, making it like a sauna. I told the receptionist, but she said it was fine. I guess they lose a lot of money on heating.

Our train ran late, and we arrived half an hour after closing. It was nighttime, with the nearest hotel still open 16 kilometers away, but the receptionist just said they were closed and told us to leave. They cancelled our booking and refused to make another one for the following days because we had tried to take the room keys ourselves.

Nicolletta and the other woman, whose name I can’t remember, were superb and very friendly. The breakfast was the same pastries and juice each day, and the cappuccinos were the best! The showers were the only issue because of the faucets and setup, but they fixed them and upgraded our room. They control the heat, but will turn it on if you ask. There’s no microwave. It’s more like a bed and breakfast, or a hostel, than a hotel. The place is right in the center of a pretty nice city. It’s definitely recommended, and just one train ride away from Tuscany, Pisa and Siena. Go see Tania Veracini at begotour. She’ll help with train departures and tickets!

The room was hot, and when I went to the front desk there was no one to talk to about it. Apart from that, it looked nice and was very clean.
