The owner was kind, courteous, and helpful, and I only found out later that pets are welcome too. The farmhouse is well placed for visiting Tuscany’s beautiful sights. It’s clean and comfortable, with a lovely pool, and the peaceful natural setting is ideal for families looking to relax. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely, relaxing few days in Tuscany at the end of June, staying in La Tavernetta for three days. The staff and owner did their best to make us comfortable. The apartment was roomy, clean, and welcoming, with thoughtful, quaint furnishings. It stayed surprisingly cool during the hottest part of the day. They even brought us an umbrella for the outdoor area, though we didn’t end up needing it. Our child slept on a sofa bed that he found very comfortable, and the double bed in the separate bedroom was comfortable too. The pool is large and clean, with very little chlorine, plus green space, sun loungers, and swings. The water can be a bit chilly depending on the sun. One drawback is that people who aren’t staying at the farmhouse can use it too. On the Friday afternoon we were there, a group of outsiders was especially rude. Carlo made sure we got to try all the fresh food: appetizer, first and second courses, side dish, and dessert. Everything was tasty and plentiful, so if you take full board, expect to put on a few pounds a day. He didn’t even charge us for the extra drinks we ordered. We could have used the pool on our departure day as well, though we couldn’t make it work with our plans. It’s a lovely place to relax, with good food and friendly staff. Recommended!

The view is beautiful, and the animals are a nice option if you’re travelling with children. We were sorry the weather kept us from exploring more of the estate. We stayed two nights, from May 28th to 30th, with half board. The days were chilly, but the apartment and room were very comfortable and well heated. Even before breakfast, the radiators were hot, so we didn’t wake up cold. Both dinner and breakfast were very good, authentic, and generous. You won’t leave hungry.

The location and panoramic view are lovely, but the cleaning and food quality were disappointing. There was plenty to eat, and the portions were generous, but the ingredients seemed commercial and not like what I’d expect from a Tuscan farmhouse. Breakfast was packaged pastries every day, with no croissant, homemade cake, or savory option.
