Albergo Al Moretto

The last four days of my Italy trip were awful, after stays in Capri, Rome, and Florence. The rooms look nothing like the online photos, and we had no hot water on our first night. The beds were painfully hard, so I pulled extra blankets from the closet to add a little cushioning after my body ached from that first night. The walls are so thin that you can hear the neighbors showering and using the toilet, and the air conditioning quit after day one. The staff were horrible. The older man and woman were incredibly rude and wouldn't help with requests, even when I asked for a Coke. They came to our room to yell at us in person for being “too loud” instead of calling. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and yourself a lot of headaches by booking elsewhere.

The location is good and the hotel itself was okay, but breakfast is very basic. The owner, an older woman, was super rude 🤷‍♀️

Finding the entrance is the tricky part, but once you do, parking is good. The staff are friendly and breakfast is fine, though nothing fancy. The rooms are a bit older, but clean and have all the main things you need.

We chose the junior suite because the extra cost over a double room seemed worth it. Check-in went smoothly and the room looked nice. After showering around 16:00, I found the floor by the bathroom door wet and assumed I'd failed to close the shower curtain properly, so I cleaned it up. When we returned around 22:00, we switched on the AC and went to bed. My partner couldn't sleep because water kept dripping onto the floor and lamp. We tried to contain it with towels, but around 01:00 I woke to what sounded like rain. The AC was suddenly pouring water into the room. That's when I realized the earlier wet floor hadn't been caused by my shower either. We turned the AC off, put towels down for the water damage, and tried to sleep. At checkout, we told the receptionist we'd had a horrible night. The man there said they already knew about the AC problem and that it would be fixed that day, as we were leaving. It feels like a money grab to put guests in a room with a known issue. Beware of room 306.
