Casa Vacanze Gorgonia

The apartment was new and clean, with air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and we had an exceptional stay. Its spot in the historic city center made it easy to reach several local beaches and visit nearby cities. There's also a shared terrace upstairs. The downsides were the shared washing machines, which were very slow, with just three for five apartments. We often couldn't wash our beach towels, which was frustrating. There also wasn't enough furniture or storage, so we couldn't unpack all our luggage. Even so, we enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend it.

Castellammare del Golfo has a lively atmosphere at all hours, but it never feels chaotic. The food is excellent, the locals are fantastic, and prices aren't especially high. The vacation home is excellent too, and the owner was very kind and helpful. From here it's easy to get to beaches and other coastal and tourist spots, including the Zingaro Nature Reserve. I highly recommend it.

It's practically in the center, and the house is new. Sheets and bath towels were kindly provided. It's a shame about the lack of attention to detail and to guests, though: for instance, there were no countertops, the cookware was old, and the knives were dull.

The beach is 2 km away, and the apartment was dirty, with cockroaches and no parking. Our airport transfer was late, and I'm still waiting for the invoice. My earlier review was removed, which felt rather clever. I wouldn't recommend this place. And please don't tell me you don't know me.
