Anema & Core

The shower kept flooding, maybe because of a drainage issue. When I asked the manager about it, they suggested it might be because I'd lost my hair while showering. Also, the half-bath is out in the hallway shared with the other rooms, which felt a bit uncomfortable. The room wasn't very convenient either. To switch on the ceiling fan, you have to stand on the bed, and the pull cord got caught in our hands several times. Breakfast was a basket of packaged snacks left in the room, with a boiler for heating water. That felt like a bit of a missed opportunity, since Castellammare di Stabia is known for excellent pastries and delicious coffee. Aside from the place where I slept, though, everything else was wonderful!

Pasquale and Assunta were attentive to our comfort, and Mario was so friendly and helpful when we were negotiating. Thanks to them for a lovely stay. We wanted a well-priced place in a handy spot, and this apartment fit. It has a little balcony overlooking the sea and is just a few steps from the center. Parking, a supermarket, ice cream parlors, chalets with excellent seafood, and lively seafront walks are all close by. We had a motorbike, which made it easy to reach the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts, and there's also a ferry to Capri. See you soon, DeF

The welcome from Mario, Assunta, and Pasquale was wonderful. They were available whenever we needed them and suggested places to visit and eat. On arrival they made us a welcome aperitif, which turned into dinner, with typical local dishes cooked by the excellent chef Assunta. Delicious! The apartment is spacious, clean, welcoming, and has all the comforts you need. It really lives up to the name ANEMA and CORE. It's right by the Circumvesuviana station, with connections to Sorrento, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples, and other interesting places. The cable car to Monte Faito is there too. Ferries for Sorrento and Capri leave from the port next door. There's secure, large parking right in front, day and night. The apartment is on the city's main street, surrounded by shops, supermarkets, restaurants, pizzerias, pubs, ice cream parlors, bars, cinemas, and clubs open all night. We appreciated how much ANEMA and CORE the hosts put into their work. Highly recommended, and we'll be back as soon as we can!

CASTELLAMMARE itself is beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend this place to couples with children who need to relax. My wife and I came with our two small children, and in the evening she started complaining that the neighbors were bothered by the noise. But the children were making the sort of noise any child would make. The rules felt rather restrictive to me, and having people complain about your kids in a rented apartment doesn't feel like a holiday or a chance to unwind. We had to follow those rules, and the cleanliness and hospitality left a lot to be desired. Breakfast was terrible, or really just half a breakfast on the first day. Families like ours would be wasting their money here.
