Hotel Le Fontanelle

The property is gorgeous and so quiet that my wife and I felt as if we had it to ourselves. We kicked off our honeymoon at the Club House and had a fantastic stay. The food was amazing, some of the best we’ve ever eaten. I’d highly recommend it if you want a restful visit to Tuscany.

We loved the pool, the peaceful views, and the consistently attentive service with our delicious meals at Hotel Le Fontanelle. The room stayed cool, but the bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable. For our honeymoon, the staff left prosecco, wine, and a thoughtful note, and when we arrived early they offered breakfast, held our bags, and let us relax until the room was ready. The sunset picnic was a letdown for 130 euros. We were handed a very heavy, pre-packed basket from behind the front desk and had to arrange it ourselves and find a spot on the property. There wasn’t a clear place with a sunset view, and the food was underwhelming. By contrast, the Vallepicciola winery tour and dinner at their sister property, The Clubhouse, were fantastic, and the shuttle service was great. Even with the bed and picnic disappointments, it’s still one of the most incredible places we’ve stayed, and we’d return in a heartbeat.

The grounds are beautiful, with flowers, neat gardens, vineyards, and olive trees all around. Wherever we were, the views across the Tuscan hills stayed stunning. We felt incredibly lucky to experience it and can’t wait to come back. The staff were warm and welcoming, and they handled a few small booking changes without any fuss. So many details were taken care of for us, from arranging activities to timing turndown service while we were at dinner. After our ride, someone had even scrubbed the tires on our e-bikes. Our picnic was packed neatly in a custom backpack with everything we could need. Hotel Le Fontanelle felt truly magical. Every detail seemed carefully considered, and the scenery never got old, whether we were by the pool or having a meal.

We spent our honeymoon at Hotel La Fontanelle, and it was such a romantic, relaxing stay. The views were breathtaking, the food was delicious, and the service was brilliant. There are plenty of wine tours in the Chianti region, and the hotel can arrange excursions for you. We’ll definitely return.
