La Casaccia Guelfi

The old ceilings, floors, and furnishings gave the flat so much character, and it had everything we needed. It stayed cool inside, too. We loved the quiet village after our day trips, and that terrific view. Laura, thank you for letting us spend a week in your lovely guest house. We’ll miss the place, and Adamo too!

San Gusmè is only a five-minute walk away, and there are plenty of other villages nearby to explore. Siena and Florence take a bit more effort to reach, but Laura was kind and happy to suggest different routes. The property is wonderfully quiet, with a big garden, pool, and barbecue area. Our apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable holiday, and the view over the hills and Crete Senesi is superb. We arrived early in the season, while the staff were still renovating the outside.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and San Gusme, a charming village, is close by. The place sits among vineyards and olive groves, away from the noise, with a swimming pool and beautiful views. A dreamlike Tuscan setting.

Set among the woods, this large farmhouse still has a 19th-century feel. You can see it from San Gusme, a beautiful hamlet. The apartments have been renovated with terracotta floors and classic furnishings. There's a pool and plenty of room for children and dogs, plus space to grill.
