You may know Massimo Bottura, but Hannes Malfertheiner deserves attention too. His cooking is progressive Italian cuisine, full of talent and passion. He chose to serve his food in this lovely, quaint, refurbished farmhouse, rather than chase celebrity cooking mainstream elsewhere, and his love for his beautiful bride, Inga, seems to come first. The creations burst with flavor, and the presentation looks like art on porcelain. Hannes is warm with his fiercely loyal guests, making the meal feel like a family reunion. His heart is bigger than his double breasted jacket, and his smile, enthusiasm, and joy in cooking are matched only by Inga. Go here, skip Milano and Bolzano, and eat here. You too will Broke your Mouth.

The owner was always available and very attentive if we needed anything. The apartment was fully equipped and ideally located, with excellent views when the weather allowed. It had two bright bedrooms and a living room/kitchen, a useful base for exploring the Dolomites. From the photos, we thought the view was from a higher-floor apartment, but ours was actually on the ground floor. We also missed a few things found in other apartments, like bathroom amenities or coffee. The living room sofa was uncomfortable.
