Hotel Arnaria

I didn’t stay at the hotel, so I can only speak about my interaction with the front desk, which was very disappointing. We arrived late at night after being stranded, with no taxis available and very limited public transport. We asked if we could wait briefly in the lobby while arranging a ride, but were told to leave because only guests could stay. There was no basic courtesy or understanding of our situation. I expected more willingness to help in an emergency, and the way it was handled left a very negative impression.

Our room and the hotel were always clean, and the bathroom was probably the cleanest I’ve ever had in a hotel. My six-year-old loved the downstairs play area and the bunk bed in our room. Hicham was a fantastic shuttle driver, always on time and able to find us even when I wasn’t great at explaining where to pick us up. The food was delicious, and all the restaurant and hotel staff were kind and friendly. We felt well cared for as a family with a small child. Thanks to everyone for a lovely, memorable birthday and Christmas stay.

Breakfast was an incredible spread, and the three-course dinners were delicious, with a different menu each night. Hotel Amaria is a spotless, family-run boutique hotel near Ortisei, with a lovely property and amazing views from every room. Martin and Elizabeth are fantastic hosts. There’s a bus stop right outside, which makes getting around very convenient. I’d highly recommend staying here any time of year.

The shuttle argument at checkout really upset us. Even though we had paid everything and had only complained about the service, the receptionist stopped us from taking the hotel’s free shuttle to the ski lift because we had already checked out. Earlier that morning, a man at reception charged us 5 euro for the room water. I asked if it was free, and he replied rudely, “nothing is free here, if you want free you should drink tap water!” We’d spent 865 euro at this hotel, and I didn’t care about the 5 euro itself, but I did care about how he spoke to us. In my experience, this hotel is arrogant. It claims to be four-star, though I felt it was barely three-star. Think twice before staying here.
