My daughter calls it Heidi's cabin, and our family had a thrilling stay there. She and our two small children loved sledding in all the snow that winter of 2020. The ski lifts were closed because of the pandemic, which suited us since we could enjoy the peace and quiet. For skiers, though, it's a paradise, with the slopes just behind the cabin and skis on from the door. It's a beautiful detached cabin with a barn attached that can serve as a garage. The place is rustic and takes you back in time, but we felt at home immediately. It has heating, hot water, a wood-burning stove, two bedrooms sleeping six, and a sofa in the traditional stube. I'd recommend it to mountain lovers who want an authentic place and don't need too many comforts, especially people used to sleeping in mountain huts. It may not suit city people unfamiliar with rural life. I'll definitely return.

The location is enchanting and the cabin is easy to reach by car or bus 11. It's close to the Florian chairlift, but very quiet. That suited us, though anyone wanting a secluded place should know it isn't one. From the outside it looks better than the photos and seems rustic. After a few days, though, it felt somewhere between neglected and dilapidated. Parts of the wooden railings are coming loose or visibly cracked and unstable. The dishes were a mess and not clean, and the cookware was badly used. Behind the refrigerator was a stash of rubbish and food that could have been there for who knows how long. When we showed the owner, she just shrugged without apologizing. After a few nights, we were woken by animals moving, maybe gnawing, behind the wood paneling around the chimney flue. We heard them in the other room and along the kitchenette wall too. The owner said there were bat nests. Taking that explanation as true, the noises disturbed us for several nights. We asked for a discount for the disruption and were told we could find another cabin on the mountain if we wanted. The heating works well and the bathroom has been renovated, but the showerhead doesn't work properly. As in the photos, there are no double beds, though the single bed can be pushed against the bunk bed. A flashlight for guests would be useful. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

Right beside the slopes in the ski area, this is a rustic cabin with a fantastic location. Addendum to my 2018 review: I drove past last week, and from the outside it looked like the cabin had been newly built.
