Hotel Zoello Je Suis

The service was kind and helpful, and the pool was small but great since we were usually the only ones there. Breakfast was fine, with sweets, toast, scrambled eggs, fruit, and cappuccino, though no vegetables. Rooms were decent and mostly clean, with air conditioning. The one drawback was that there were no baby cots, which seems like a small investment that could bring a lot of benefits. You get what you pay for, and the experience was very good.

The waiter was lovely and made amazing coffee with a smile, which helped make up for the disappointing breakfast. The ingredients were second-rate and there wasn’t much to choose from. The hotel itself is nice and the staff were service minded, but the owner’s strict rules posted everywhere really spoiled our stay. We were asked seven times whether we smoked, and even after saying no, we were scolded. At check-in, she immediately said she was suspicious of our group because we were in our 20s. There are cameras everywhere. If you do stay here, the restaurant sombrero at the end of the street is amazing, 10/10. /Olof Jonsson

For a one-night stay, it was an okay place in a nice region, though not as amazing as some people have found it. My room was small for the price, with a single bed and a 90 or 100 cm mattress, but it was alright and both the A/C and shower worked. They let me into the room at midday to leave some things, which I appreciated. There’s a small lift serving every floor. Breakfast was just okay, and felt like a budget offering for the room price: decent coffee, cold scrambled eggs by 8:30 when I was one of the last guests, untoasted toast, some cheese and ham, and boxed juice. At 8:40 a woman started clearing the breakfast room before I’d finished, without saying anything or interacting with me. It would also be better to have the Wi-Fi code in the room instead of only at reception. Without breakfast, I’d give the stay 3.5 stars.

We were the only tourists there, which was part of the charm. The place feels Italian in the real way, not the tourist version. We found it while looking for somewhere good on our trip south, and it turned out to be one of my top three Italian or Tuscan restaurants. The ravioli and tortelloni were amazing. Go and try it, it’s worth it!
