B&B Too Cute 2B Str8

We had to leave and find another hotel for the night. The owners wouldn’t speak by phone, so we had to text, and they never apologized. The first room’s door wouldn’t lock, and the balcony door had been smashed, with a huge hole that made us feel unsafe. The towels were really dirty. The owners refused to come back and help, sending angry texts telling us to take another room instead. That room wasn’t clean and had no bedding. They told us to take its key from the entrance, where keys for all the rooms were just lying around for anyone to take. The included breakfast was a packaged croissant. I can’t understand how this place has good reviews. It caused so much stress, and I’d never go near it again.

Alessandro is a gracious, welcoming owner, and this is a beautiful place. My train from Florence was delayed by three hours, so I had to buy an emergency bus ticket to Milano. Alessandro waited for me even though I arrived after the scheduled check-in time. The room was perfect, with thoughtful personal touches, and the bed was so comfortable. The shower was amazing, I could have stayed in it all day. If I come back to Milano, I’ll book here straight away.

The room was clean and had all the essentials, with shops and a few restaurants close by. It’s about a half-hour walk to the center. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and even though our flight was delayed and we arrived late for our reservation, they waited and welcomed us as well as they could. A really good place to stay. I’ll definitely come back.

We were excited after reading the reviews, which made this look like a great B&B with fair prices and nice services. The reality was very different. Nobody was there to check us in, and we had to wait for someone to leave the building so we could enter through the door they left open. At the reception table was a man who spoke no English at all. After a struggle, we explained that we had a reservation already paid for through Booking and needed our room. He asked to photograph my credit card, but I refused because we’d paid already. Asking for a card photo wouldn’t be okay even if we hadn’t paid in advance. He handed us unmarked keys with no room number or tags, gave instructions in Italian that we couldn’t understand, and left without showing us which room was ours. Nobody explained breakfast or the other facilities. The room’s AC didn’t work, there was a trail of ants from the balcony door to the bed, and despite our booking saying private bathroom, it was shared. The walls were cracked, the furniture was dusty, and the room was terribly unclean. Later, a cleaner arrived and said she had a copy of our room key, and that we were “free to leave any money and valuables” in the room while she cleaned. We said we’d take our things with us. She got upset and left without cleaning. I don’t know what happened to this place, but in its current state I’d advise people to spend their money somewhere else.
