Holiday Inn Milan - Garibaldi Station by IHG

The reception team have been so helpful with our questions during this extended stay in Milan, and we've been impressed by the attention we've received. Our room was very warm, so we had the heating turned off. Since there's no A/C, they gave us a fan. We ate at the restaurant last night. The selection was fine, though it could use more vegan choices. There are also lots of nearby places to eat outside the hotel.

Getting into the center is easy by tram, with a stop right by the hotel. I think tram no. 2 goes close to the Duomo without a change. We walked there instead, about 40 minutes through lovely alleys, piazzas and broad boulevards. Milano Porta Garibaldi station is a convenient ten-minute walk away, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was excellent. Our room was spacious, clean and had lots of storage; the bathroom was large, clean and well appointed. Breakfast had a huge selection, from breads, croissants, cakes and pastries to milk, coffee, olives, cheese, meats, eggs and potatoes. The staff were the best part, especially Ms. Xinia, who was friendly, professional and very helpful. I'd highly recommend it.

The garage is at the back of the building and can be tricky to find. It works well once you do, with direct access to the hotel, though a huge SUV might be difficult. My room was clean and spacious, and while I could hear the tram, it wasn't loud enough to bother me. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It's a typical Holiday Inn Milan and good value for the money. I had to leave early for an appointment, so I can't comment on breakfast. I'd recommend it in Milan.

Traffic is heavy around this very central hotel, though the location also makes it convenient. The staff were friendly and great, and the clean, modern-looking rooms had good quality beds and materials. Even with the traffic nearby, my room was quiet. The standard WiFi could use an upgrade: it was fine for streaming movies, but not for gaming or high-quality music streaming.
