The owner was very kind, and that was the one bright spot. The place itself felt cold, run-down, and like a construction site, with nobody there to greet us. Our room smelled of cigarettes and desperation. The bathroom was so dirty I can't describe it. We pulled our sleeping bags from the car so we wouldn't have to touch the bedsheets, then slept close together to smell home instead of the room. Maybe a few changes, including hiring some cleaning staff, could make this place a gem. We're laid-back, low-maintenance people, but this went past even our limits. Never again.

It was quiet, but the shower leaked and there was no hot water. The waste bin was full, too.
