Ristorante Is Bisus

The setting and view were gorgeous, and dinner was phenomenal. My wife and I both picked the meat option, called the earth menu on the card. It came as four courses: a mixed plate, two kinds of pasta, grilled pork, and sweet bites, all typical Sardinian dishes. We’d come back if we’re in Sardinia again.

The area is wonderfully quiet, and on clear nights you can see a spectacular spread of stars. During the day there are lovely views over green hills to the sea. Villasimius’s beaches are about a 30-minute drive, while Costa Rei is around 15 minutes away. We really enjoyed our stay at Is Bisus. The staff are friendly, helpful, and clearly care about their work. We had a relaxing holiday and will keep it in mind for next time. Alessia and Bianca deserve a special thank you for going the extra mile. Each accommodation is a cosy studio in its own separate building. Our room was clean and nicely presented, with a little fridge, kettle, air conditioning, hairdryer, hangers, and several kinds of cushions so we could find ones we liked. The only drawbacks I noticed were noisy air conditioning and a bathroom that could use renovation. We added breakfast, which I’d recommend because there aren’t many cafes nearby. It’s filling, with freshly made cakes, cereal, ham and cheese for making your own panini, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, and more. We also ate dinner at the Is Bisus restaurant a few times, choosing the daily menu each time. It featured Sardinian dishes such as Malloreddus, Culurgiones, Porceddu, and lovely local desserts. The portions were generous, and we loved the food. A big thank you to Alessia and Bianca in particular. You’re the best!

The location is dreamy, but that’s about the only good thing. The service seemed totally absent and out of touch with guests. Dinner was awful. From the antipasti through the pasta to the fish course, it was a horrible meal. The pasta had more shrimp heads than tails, oddly enough. The one exception was the dorada, which was fresh, seasoned properly, and grilled well. We didn’t have the stomach to stay for dessert. If you’re staying in a tent, go for the view, take a few pictures, then get out of there.

We were welcomed warmly, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was nice too. A great base for visiting the different beaches. Recommended. Chantal and Rick
