Sant'Elmo Beach Hotel

The setting was lovely, with beautiful beaches close by. The pool and the areas around it were clean and looked after. I also liked how the architecture of the main building carried through to the bungalows, which gave the whole place a lot of charm. The food was good, and the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive.

There was posidonia on the beach, which was a shame, though it wasn’t anyone’s fault. There are several other beaches within walking distance. We were very happy with our stay: the staff were welcoming, everything was spotless, and there was a good range of dishes on the menu.

We stayed two nights with the family. The staff in the dining room were kind and very helpful, and the pool was fine, with enough loungers. You can rent towels or bring your own. The food was okay, though there wasn’t a huge choice. In the evenings there was live music followed by a DJ, plus entertainment for kids. The beach is about a 10-minute walk across a field, but it was piled with dry seaweed, so we just had a drink at the bar and headed back. The hotel feels dated and basic. The outside looks bright and flowery, but our bungalow room was small and the furniture had seen better days. The Wi-Fi barely worked in the room.

The beach was still completely covered in algae. The hotel was trying to clear it, but the removed algae was piled 3-4m high along the side, leaving the rest of the beach covered too.
