Villa Schiatti

The location made a perfect base for visiting the region’s charming villages, and everyone spoke English fluently, which helped since our Italian isn’t quite there yet. Breakfast was a daily highlight, with loads of local and homemade treats prepared with care. Dinner was a masterpiece, with superb wine, exceptional food and warm, attentive service. Nothing was too much trouble. We spent nine unforgettable days in this breathtaking Tuscan setting, and loved the landscape, hotel, hosts and staff. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and spotless, and the air conditioning was a must in the summer heat. We came away with wonderful memories and are already dreaming of returning.

The staff are super friendly and helpful, and made sure we felt right at home. I loved the atmosphere on the other terraces too. The hotel’s location is incredible, with one of the best views I’ve ever seen from the pool, terrace and breakfast room.

Relaxing by the pool, sitting in the shaded courtyard and having a romantic dinner on the rooftop terrace with views over the Tuscan countryside made every moment special. Villa Schiatti had just the right mix of Tuscan charm and comfort. We were traveling with our one-year-old, and the staff were thoughtful and supportive throughout. From the minute we arrived, they were warm, welcoming and always glad to help or think things through. We couldn’t have chosen a better place for our holiday in Castiglion Fiorentino.

The place is beautiful and the service was great. The rooms had poor insulation, though, and we were freezing at the beginning of October. The restaurant was mediocre by Tuscan standards.
