Breakfast and the breakfast service were really nice, but the room was nowhere near worth 70 euros for one night. We chose the economy option after being told the premium room cost 10 euros more and came with extra space and a bidet. No one was there at checkout, so we couldn't raise the problems with management. The bed made a lot of noise whenever we moved because the headboard wasn't secured, and it ruined my sleep. There was also a broken toilet seat with no lid, a black mark along the shower curtain's bottom edge, and a missing bulb in the bedside light. The price for what we got felt really poor.

The rooms were clean and recently refurbished, and the location was great for getting to the beaches. Breakfast was Italian style, with sweet pastries from a local bakery. We were disappointed by the room size. We had booked a suite, but the whole room was perhaps 25 square metres. It did have a narrow balcony overlooking a quiet part of the street, which was nice to sit on. I’d call it a small family room rather than a suite.

We asked not to have the room serviced, but they brought six fresh towels every day anyway. When we said we didn't need cleaning, the receptionist replied rather arrogantly that the rooms had to be cleaned and there was no way to opt out, as if it were a stupid thing to ask. The service was disappointing in general. One of the two brothers at reception could be helpful, like when he pointed us to the best nearby beach, but at other times he was dismissive and arrogant. He reacted that way when we mentioned the windows wouldn't close properly, and said there would be margarine at breakfast when there wasn't any for three days.

We’d happily stay here again. Julio at reception was extremely kind and gave us useful tips for our time in Castiglioncello. He even lent us a beach umbrella for the day at no charge. The views were beautiful, and the service was great. Julio said his parents’ bakery supplied the fresh pastries each morning, and they were delicious. We recommend booking by phone or through the website.

We ended up needing a room in Castiglioncello at short notice. It was affordable, clean, and nicely decorated. After a day in the sun, it was a relief to have a good shower and air conditioning. The staff were really nice and helpful. Since we had to leave very early, they even put together a sweet breakfast to take with us. A comfortable, good stay.
