The village is lovely, and there’s a marked path up to the bell that makes for a nice walk. Dinner was sublime, with homemade pasta. Breakfast for hotel guests was amazing, too. The owner asks what you’d like, and there’s plenty of great food: homemade cakes and marmalade, toasted bread, fresh local and aged cheeses, excellent ricotta, creamy cappuccino, ham, salame, and eggs cooked as you prefer. It’s not a buffet, and the quality and quantity were both excellent.

The restaurant is at the top of a small hill town in Tuscany. We found it on the AiC list and probably wouldn’t have come across it otherwise. My wife needs dairy-free food, and they offered several dishes. She chose the cinghiale stew and loved it. I had the homemade lasagna from the regular menu, which was amazing. We highly recommend the restaurant.

We happened to be nearby and stopped in for a late lunch. The food was brilliant, and the service felt unusually posh for the area. I’d have given five stars, but the flies being zapped electronically throughout lunch were a nuisance.
