I stayed here last year. It's close to Castiglione del Lago village, while still offering the quiet of the countryside. Many well-known places in Tuscany and Umbria are nearby, including Perugia, Cortona, Montalcino and Montepulciano.

The setting is great for exploring Tuscany, and Castiglione del Lago has plenty to offer. The house itself looks beautiful, especially outside, with a fantastic outdoor area, but inside it's a mess and poorly maintained. The parasol holders are broken, the shower heads and taps badly need cleaning, and the beds are in terrible condition. Kitchen equipment also makes it hard to cook for yourself. Wi-Fi is hit or miss, and only works near the neighboring house when it does.

It's a nice place with a nice pool, but the Wi-Fi is unbelievably unreliable, probably because the router is at the neighbor's neighbor's. When I could connect, download speed was only 1 MB/s. The signal is almost nonexistent, so mobile data isn't an option either. The kitchen facilities are a bit slow too.
