Rustic Farmhouse in Lazio

This place rescued our vacation. After we had to cancel another B&B, we found a room at Casale dei Gelsi at the last minute. The peace and beauty struck us right away, along with how friendly and welcoming everyone was. Francesca was especially delightful. The farmhouse sits amid greenery near the border with Umbria and made it easy for us to get to Civita, Orvieto, Bolsena, and other nearby towns. It has every comfort, including a swimming pool and hot tub. Breakfast was excellent, with homemade food that made the stay feel even more authentic. We had a relaxing, enjoyable visit and will definitely come back.

I came back to this beautiful farmhouse after seven years, this time with my family. The staff were incredibly kind, and the rooms were clean, lovely, and very romantic. There are so many beautiful places to visit nearby, including Civita, Lake Bolsena, the Marmore Falls, and the Saturnia thermal baths. I’d recommend it to anyone after a fabulous, romantic, peaceful stay.

We visited friends who were staying here for several days during Ferragosto week. The place was welcoming, and the staff checked on guests’ well-being each day. They were friendly and discreet, and ready to help with what people needed. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the shared areas were comfortable places to spend time together in peace. It’s worth considering for families or friends who want a few days of sightseeing or a quiet break away from the city.

The recently renovated farmhouse is so clean and peaceful, and it feels like home. They’ve taken care of every little detail, and the staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. Definitely recommended!
