We'd visited Lovere twice before, but this time we chose to stay in Castro, just outside town. It was close enough to the action while still giving us peace and a break from the crowds. Our family group of 13 came from South Africa, the USA, and Poland, and the Bertola family welcomed us into their village like relatives. The apartments and rooms were just right, the service was excellent, and we loved the restaurant's food. Some of the best we've eaten in Italy, and we've been there many times. Alice was wonderful to deal with by email from the start. We felt at home and will definitely return.

We went there for dinner on July 27 after a breathtaking but exhausting hike, and were so glad we picked this restaurant. The terrace is lovely, the staff are so polite, and the food was delicious. The prices were amazing too, and every dessert is homemade. We had a great time and will definitely come back.

The staff were kind and accommodating, and the place is good if you want peace and privacy. The room lighting is oddly positioned, right at eye level, and it got irritating. The bed felt a little too soft, which might not suit someone with back pain. Otherwise, it was a nice enough place, though nothing particularly memorable.

It's one of my favorite hotels from the past month. We had a very nice room by the water and loved the beautiful restaurant. They also reserved three parking spaces for our sports cars. Thanks, we'll be back.
