The staff were lovely and very helpful, and the mattress was comfortable. I was relieved there was a kettle. The room was big enough and comfortable, though the balcony faced a brick wall. From one angle, you could see Mt. Etna. It's a clever setup, turning one huge flat into four dorms with shared facilities. Lidl and McDonald's are nearby for familiar food. You can't park close because of the daily market, but with this location you don't really need a car if you're able to walk for half an hour. It was very noisy, though: a boiler drummed constantly behind the wall, the cistern kept refilling and ironically didn't flush on the first try, and an open mic bar played live drums every night from 9 to midnight.

The street noise carries right into the room, so I'd bring earplugs. The room itself is clean, and there's a shared kitchen.

The area is lively and busy. During the day, you can hear the open market right beneath the apartment, and in the evening there's Latin music from a bar. It didn't bother us, though it could bother someone else. The location is very good, close to the central attractions. Our room was decent and had its own bathroom, which was handy.

It's a short five-minute walk to the center. We had a nice room with a beautiful view, and they provided everything we asked for. The staff were friendly, and communication with the owner was good.
