Everything else was great, and the neighbors were good too, but the bathroom pipes smelled and the water kept turning cold, so I couldn’t get a proper hot shower. The drain also doesn’t work well enough to shower comfortably. The elevator has been modernized, but only fits two people. The apartment itself is comfortable and very well maintained. It’s about a 25-minute walk to the Duomo, so it’s outside the city center, though Borgo metro station is five minutes away and connects to nearly everywhere. There’s a fast-food sushi place right by the entrance, plus a pizza-by-the-slice shop, a bakery with delicious bread, a hot-food counter open most of the day, and a fairly well-stocked supermarket a little farther on. If you need a rental car, there are two offices close by, one right at the entrance that’s almost never staffed and another a little farther away. There’s also a 24-hour garage on the parallel street for 10 euros, which is handy.
