Etna Sea House

I wasn't satisfied with the stay. The owner wasn't helpful, and the cleaning was neither daily nor thorough. We went without toilet paper for three days. We had booked a room with a balcony, but it wasn't connected to the room and was only about 2 square meters. Guests used it for smoking. Breakfast was served 200 meters away, and this hadn't been mentioned. Update 1: Sorry, I don't know how else to respond. Sorry, Sandro, you're not right. A picture is worth a thousand words, so let me share some more.

We had an easy stay and would happily return. Communication with the B&B host worked well despite some language difficulties, and self check-in and checkout were arranged. The room was cleaned daily, with towels and minibar restocked. The only issue we encountered was the elevator being out of order near the end of our stay when we headed into town. It wasn't the B&B's fault, and it was working again a few hours later. It's around 2-3 km from the center, but the city is mostly flat, so walking is manageable if you don't mind the distance. There's metro access nearby, and the price for what you get is superb. I'm honestly not sure what some of the negative reviews are referring to, unless people hadn't read the booking details.

I booked four nights at Etna Sea House through Booking.com, but my stay was very disappointing. My flight was unexpectedly delayed, so I couldn't arrive during check-in hours. After I landed, the host messaged to say he had already left and there was no point in coming. I understand that a host can't be expected to wait past check-in time, but I found what happened next upsetting. I found somewhere else to sleep that night, planning to check in the next day and use the remaining three nights. Instead, I learned that the host had canceled the whole reservation. I contacted Booking.com support and asked either for a partial refund or to continue the stay, but the host refused both. I'm glad I hadn't booked a longer stay, as I might have lost even more money. I wouldn't recommend this property.

The owners were great and friendly. The hotel is about a 30-minute walk from the historic center, which suited me since I don't mind walking. There's a bus stop nearby if you'd rather not walk. For the beach, you'll definitely need a car or public transport.
