Hotel Agathae

For a three-day visit, this hotel suited me perfectly. The price and location were its biggest advantages, with the main attractions easy to reach, a lovely park nearby, and a Lidl within walking distance. The room and bed were small, but I only came back in the evenings, so it didn't affect my stay. The bathroom was clean and the air conditioning worked well. I left it on overnight and shut the windows to keep mosquitoes out. I came away with a good impression.

The mattress didn't cover the wooden bed frame all the way, so I banged my leg on it. That's why I'm giving it four stars. The room was small, which was fine since we weren't spending time there, but moving around the beds was a bit tricky, especially for a tall person. It was clean, though I didn't like the artificial smell of the cleaning liquid or whatever it was. We were welcomed warmly at the hotel, and people in the restaurants, shops, and elsewhere were kind and patient when we asked for help. I was there with a friend, and we managed to communicate even when we didn't know Italian and the person helping us didn't know English 🤗. Breakfast was included, and the ladies serving it made our Sicily experience even better. The hotel is right in the centre on Via Etnea, perfect for exploring beautiful Catania. Pasticceria Savia is just across the street for coffee and sweets. The staff and location were great 👍 I'd come again.

We got stuck in the elevator for a bit during our one-night stay, but someone came to help right away and we were out shortly after pressing the help button 😅. They even gave us free water afterward 🤗. The next day we left our luggage in the conference room while we explored the city. The beds were comfortable, and our room was cozy and clean. The staff were very polite and helpful, and it's an amazing little hotel in a prime spot. The price was very fair. Definitely recommend it!

Breakfast had everything we needed, and the terrace made for a peaceful start to the day. Our spacious room had a high ceiling and a small balcony, too. Reception is open 24 hours, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It's a hidden gem on a busy street. Finding the hotel along Via Etnea and then making your way through the inner hall adds to its charm.
