La Dimora Del Marchese

After taking your money, they stop responding when you need help. Don't rely on them.

Everything has been wonderful up to now.

The uphill walk to this place may be difficult, especially on foot, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. When I visited a few days ago, the room wasn't clean, the old shower leaked, and they replaced towels only when they were wet. There was no hair dryer, and the only soap was in cheap bottles rather than disposable bars. Breakfast was poor and stale, with only sweet food and nothing savory. Fruit appeared on the first day, but they didn't restock it after it ran out. I also paid the tourist tax without getting a receipt.

The room was awkward to move around in, with the bed and sofa bed packed close together. At night, turning on the bathroom light flooded the room because the ceiling there is glass. The decor was incredibly kitsch, though that's just personal taste. We booked for four well ahead through Booking.com for a trip with friends, but the day before arrival the lady messaged me on WhatsApp saying, quote, "stay outside" if we hadn't given her our check-in time in time. Breakfast meant sharing a single table for the whole property, and we were assigned 9:00. We got an unwelcome early wake-up, then found someone still using the table and had to wait for them to finish. They charged us €16 for tourist tax by a completely wrong calculation, then refunded it the next morning. I doubt any of us will return.
