Le Dimore Degli Archi Catania

The room opened straight onto the street, so nights were loud, and the area didn’t feel safe after dark. One night a woman was screaming right outside our door, which was a bad experience. We also had trouble getting clear information about Wi-Fi and how to enter and leave the property. Inside, cleanliness was only okay, with hairs and ants on the bed, and there was barely enough room for two bags. Maybe rooms inside the building are better, but ours was a very disappointing stay.

It was a cheap place to stay and not awful, just not especially good. The location was okay, and breakfast was pretty underwhelming, though I think that may be normal in Italy and Sicily. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, seemed a bit moldy. I’m not sure how to describe the owner, maybe shady is the word. My name couldn’t go on the reservation because it was under my friend Friedam. 👍🏻

Rossella was very welcoming, cheerful, and quick to answer our WhatsApp requests, which mattered since there was unfortunately nobody at reception. The airport shuttle was available and on time, and the location is handy for both the airport and the city. Our room was clean and we had a very pleasant stay. There were a couple of drawbacks: the cleaner didn’t come in each morning to check whether we needed towels or toilet paper, and we could hear everything as if it were happening in our room.

Everything was within walking distance, including the center, harbor, and public transport, so the location worked really well. The rooms are modern, clean, and feel luxurious. A nice place to stay in Catania, and I’d definitely return when I get the chance.
