The location is great, and the room was clean. Still, this is far too expensive for what it is: rooms in an old house, not a hotel. There's no parking lot, so you have to park on the street, and no elevator despite quite a few stairs. The receptionist carried our suitcases up, but we had to bring them down ourselves. They sell breakfast, but it's a coupon for a restaurant elsewhere. The waiter said it only covered one coffee or juice and one pastry, which doesn't really count as breakfast. There's no complimentary coffee in the room either. They took a €200 deposit, probably in case one of the room's many statues or ornaments gets broken. The closet is small, the window is too small, and the room felt very damp. Heat comes from the air conditioning. They didn't clean during our stay, and there were no slippers, shampoo, or conditioner.

The apartment is in a great location, but keep in mind it's on the third floor and there's no elevator. Inside, our room was dirty and dusty, smelled bad, and much of the food available was expired. I paid for a four-bed room and got one double bed. When I raised it with the owner, he blamed Booking and offered no fix. We also felt watched by the owner through a camera. He accused us of breaking an umbrella that was already broken, then sent us pictures from cameras showing us in the living room. He canceled the booking through Booking, so I couldn't leave a review there. He knows what he's doing. I don't recommend this place at all.

Catania is right outside, but the place itself felt peaceful, and it was lovely to come back to. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, and designed this beautiful oasis himself. The furniture and paintings give it an oriental feel, and there was tea and coffee too. It's very well located, and we didn't feel like anything was missing. I haven't seen another place like it, and we wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend it.

From the outside, you'd never guess it's a hotel, but inside it's a different story. They're restoring one floor of the old building, and doing it really nicely. Adriano was the best part for us. He helped with everything we needed and made our stay pleasant. Thank you.
