Our visit to Catania two weeks ago went really well. The host was so welcoming and helpful, and the room was roomy, modern, and spotless. It was also an easy, pleasant 15-minute walk into the town centre. We'd happily recommend it.

Everything feels brand new and thoughtfully laid out, and the staff are great. There's a fantastic café just around the corner, with the train station and metro close by too. Even with some windows facing a busy street, we barely heard any noise inside. Highly recommend.

I landed in Catania with nowhere to stay because my reservation had been cancelled. The place calls itself a hotel, but there's no reception. They tried to call the day before, when I couldn't answer, then rang again while I was checking in at the airport to explain that there was no reception and send vague text directions to the room I'd already paid for. Clear instructions for collecting the keys could have been sent four days earlier. Instead, they cancelled my booking. Avoid this place if you expect any service. It's a B&B with neither breakfast nor reception. I've seen plenty of B&Bs label themselves hotels, and guests have run into similar problems with key collection and no reception.
