Sofia Katane Suites (Adults Only)

Sofia really looks after her guests. Our plane was delayed a long time, but she still came to check us in late, and the quality for the low price was amazing. The apartment feels like an antique palace, with gorgeous design, and it was clean and comfortable. It’s close to both the city center and the bus and train station. Breakfast meant a croissant left the evening before, so we could eat whenever we wanted in the morning. There was also a buffet in the kitchen available all day and night, replenished daily with coffee, tea, water, blood orange juice, milk, lots of biscuits, Sicilian liqueurs and wine. I definitely recommend it!

Outside noise was pretty loud, though I suppose Catania is much the same everywhere. I’d brought earplugs, so I still enjoyed our stay. My husband and I only stayed one night because we arrived late, and there was a table of biscotti, tea, coffee and other things ready for us. I couldn’t stop taking photos and videos of the elegant, antique room. As we were leaving, a very sweet woman, who I thought might have been Sofia, made sure we had coffee and snacks before we went. She recommended Marzamami and reminded us to keep our phones close. That genuine care from Nonna was such an unexpected little moment, and made the trip memorable. Thank you!

It was a nice stay, and the internet connection was normal. The place was clean, and the owner was friendly and helpful. It’s near the center and Catania’s walking area. There’s a buffet left in the kitchen all the time with orange juice, almond milk, coffee, tea, different cookies and some cakes, plus a croissant for everyone at breakfast. You can make this apartment your home while you’re in Catania.
