We were there for three nights and had no complaints. The room was tidy, clean, and had all the essentials, including bathroom supplies. The owners were really friendly, and the apartment itself was very good value. From the 16th floor, the room has an amazing view. There’s also a lovely, very large park a few hundred meters away, and the location is pretty good. It’s about a 15 minute walk to Catania Centrale station. After a long hike up mt. Etna, we were especially glad to have the AC.

The whole stay was terrible. The room was dirty, sewage smell came in during the middle of the night, and outside noise went on all night. I did stay there, and I added proof from the Booking app, despite what the host claimed in the comment below. If you care about yourself, I’d spend a few more euros and choose somewhere better.

I’d urge anyone considering a reservation here to think carefully. The service was terrible, and my experience was the worst. The owner, Mr. Giacomo Antonino, was disrespectful and dishonest. Because I wouldn’t pay almost €30 extra for a taxi service, he blocked me from checking in, cancelled my reservation, and kept my money. At 11 pm I begged him to let me in because I couldn’t find another hotel, but he just blocked me and treated me badly, leaving me to spend the night on the street. They take advantage of visitors and don’t seem to understand the harm this does to the city. His Booking reviews are bad too.

Top Of Catania is on the top floor of the tallest building in southern Italy. The room is very small, but it has everything you need: you can make coffee, use the personal mini bar, and even cook. The owner is friendly and wants guests to feel comfortable. I’ll definitely come back in the future.

The room is hobbit-sized, but the location and view are excellent. The airport shuttle stop is just one block away.
