Red Bar was a lovely part of the stay. It’s nearby, and I’d tell everyone to have breakfast there: the food is delicious, the coffee is wonderful, and Massimo is so hospitable. The atmosphere there will be one of the things I miss most about Sicily. The room was comfortable and clean, with reliable hot water. You can even play music over Bluetooth while showering. There’s a beautiful shared kitchenette where I could heat food, and the shared fridge always had delicious juice. The room is on the fifth floor, but the landlord helps with luggage, so that wasn’t a worry. The fish market is very close, Elephant Square is a ten-minute walk, and there are small supermarkets nearby for water and other basics. I stayed for over a week, and that time made me fall deeply in love with Catania. This place played a big part in that. The landlord was warm, polite, and quick and enthusiastic about sorting out my problems, which helped a lot. I’m also very grateful to the driver the landlord works with. He always arrived early at the agreed meeting point, and his big smile put me in a good mood whenever I saw him. If I get the chance to return to Sicily, I’ll choose this accommodation again. I highly recommend it ❤️

We spent seven days here with a buddy and had a good stay. Filippo, the owner, is very nice and courteous, and sorts out any small problems right away. The accommodation is well situated: the beautiful old town is a 10-minute walk, and the beach takes 15 minutes to reach. There’s a little shared kitchen, and breakfast is served at the café opposite, where the people are lovely too. We’d recommend it to others.

The rooms are modern and very clean, and there’s a shared kitchen where you can make lunch or breakfast. Just keep in mind there’s no elevator to the fourth floor, and the road can be a bit noisy. That’s Sicily, I suppose! The outside of the building looks ugly at first, as does the neighbourhood, but there’s nothing to worry about and it’s really nice inside. If you want a sanitized, standard European tourist experience, this probably isn’t the place. If you want to feel the Sicilian way of life, choose it. I’d stay again.

There are 91 steps up to the apartment and no lift. It was quiet and clean, though the area wasn’t as good as it should be. The owner is a nice guy.
