San Michele Apartments

The partner restaurant is a useful extra, making it easy to enjoy good food during your stay. The property itself is comfortable and well organized, with apartment and residence options that work for either a short visit or a longer one. I especially liked the welcoming feel, the quiet, and how well everything was arranged. A good pick if you're after a relaxing, practical stay in a well-kept place 😊🛏️🍽️🌿

The staff's warmth and courtesy are the main reason I give this place five stars. They make you feel welcome, and even using the informal "voi" rather than the "lei" typical in these latitudes felt priceless. I also appreciated the good-sized, comfortable room, its more than adequate bathroom, the kitchenette that could be useful, and the private parking. Being near the Calabria regional headquarters and the Germaneto university and hospital complex was another advantage. I picked this B&B for a business trip instead of a traditional hotel because the photos of its palm trees and greenery caught my attention. Despite some less-than-positive comments, I had a good experience. The road system is genuinely precarious, though I imagine the ongoing construction work will improve it. Breakfast is another area I'd adjust. From what I saw, other guests had rated it poorly too. I'd add more sweet choices alongside the savory ones, which many less well-maintained places already offer. It should also start by 7:00 a.m. at the latest, since business guests often need to leave by 7:30 a.m., and a professional coffee machine would help. Even so, I recommend the place for stays longer than a simple B&B visit.

The buffet breakfast was generous, but it only had sweet options. The little house was welcoming, though it could use more kitchenware. When we asked, the staff quickly brought what was missing. The room's cleanliness could be improved. It's a lovely residence among greenery, with several little houses, on-site parking, and a beautiful, very clean pool. Our room was near a persimmon tree, and the fruit kept falling and attracting wasps. It was one of the rooms closest to the pool, which partly made up for it, but the tree issue should be sorted out.

The setting has plenty going for it: greenery, a good location near major roads, breakfast on site, a nearby restaurant, and a decent price. The downsides were the apartment layout, too few dishes, and fittings that didn't work properly, including the sink lights and shower heads. Cleanliness felt superficial, the pool water quality was poor, and some pool equipment was defective.
