A lovely hotel, and the food was Italian style. The one letdown was the room furniture, which was all very basic white contiboard.

The beach was close by and not too crowded, and the aquarium is right across from the hotel. It’s a calm spot for families with little kids, with a very clean, warm pool. Everything was spotless. Martyna at reception spoke English and helped us figure out the best routes to nearby attractions.

The dinner was really poor, worse than school lunch, and the staff barely spoke any English, mostly Italian. The free Wi-Fi also didn’t reach the third floor well. On the plus side, our room was clean and nice, the pool was huge, and the location near the beach worked well. Breakfast was just okay.

I have a photo of myself at 8, paddling around the pool in a little kids’ dinghy. I stayed here in 1968 or 1969, though I can’t remember which. The escape tower has since been added along the side of the building. I think Hotel President used to be across the road, but it seems to have been demolished and relocated. Must go back one day!

It was nice enough, though I’m not sure I’d come back. The hotel feels as though it’s from the 80s, but it’s clean and well maintained. There’s plenty nearby, even though the rest of the coast is some distance away. Service was fair. It wasn’t especially quiet, with the elevators and a racing track around.
