Hotel Dante

The new management at Hotel Dante is fabulous. Staff are attentive and the service is so kind. Breakfast and the restaurant are imaginative, and the food is high quality and delicious. I highly recommend this place.

The room on the 6th floor was completely unacceptable. There wasn’t a single chair, just scattered bedside tables, and the curtains were short, damaged, and useless for keeping out the morning light. The room looked nothing like the website photos. The elevator only reaches the 5th floor, which makes me wonder if the rooms on the 6th are spare rooms or used for something else. The terrace was cluttered with bed linen. The hotel offered to reduce our parking fee because we had to manage without the elevator reaching our floor. Then we saw the room. At least the Wi-Fi worked, which I hadn’t expected given everything else. On day two, at 5:40 in the morning, the light coming through was still like this even after staff had been told, and the curtains were sewn together. We booked in April and got what felt like a one-star room, with makeshift furniture, not to mention the bed and pillows. The woman at reception was helpful, but I highly don’t recommend this place.

The hotel is decent, with reasonably comfortable rooms, recently renovated bathrooms, very good cleanliness, and consistently friendly staff. The food was tasty, but there wasn’t much variety. Breakfast had several cakes for dipping, but only plain croissants, no fresh or canned fruit, and just plain loose yogurt with no toppings. There was no Romagna cooking, such as tagliatelle, cappelletti, or passatelli. They could at least have served us a bombolone. 😁 After thirty years visiting the Romagna Riviera, I’ve never before felt like I wasn’t in Romagna. There were other odd things too, but I’d rather not go into them.

We had to switch hotels unexpectedly with two small children, and Mrs. Paola quickly found a solution for us. The place felt welcoming and familiar right away. Rebecca was always smiling, friendly, and ready to help, and Paolo was incredibly kind. Gabriella was always available, too. Mrs. Paola was a wonderful host, warm and attentive to her guests. The food was fantastic, delicious and different every day. Compliments to the chef! Thank you so much for saving our vacation. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!
