Hotel Excelsior

Cattolica itself is very pretty, clean, and easy to get around. The hotel's position facing the sea is excellent, and reception was attentive and always available during our two-night stay. Our sea-view room was nothing special, though the terrace was lovely. The problem was half board: there was no welcome in the dining room, not even a hello or good evening. The dishes were poor and lacked character. I feel sorry for the chef, but the food needs improvement. Breakfast was passable, nothing special. We didn't experience the renowned hospitality and good food of Romagna.

The staff were friendly and professional, and took good care of everyone's needs, including our cat who came on holiday with us. The hotel faces the sea in a great location. The rooms were fine, and both breakfast and dinner were flawless. If we return to Cattolica, this hotel is definitely worth considering.

The food was a real letdown. Many dishes seemed to have too much cream, used unnecessarily, and breakfast was scant, with cured meats that seemed stale. The Excelsior Hotel has a charming location and a pleasant atmosphere, with the comforts needed for a relaxing stay.

We had a very pleasant half-board stay at the Excelsior Cattolica. The pasta was delicious and perfectly al dente. Breakfast was good, but the evening meal could use more variety in desserts, more fruit, and less limited portions of typical desserts like crema catalana, cheese, and ice cream. Thank you very much.
