Hotel La Pergola

The bathroom was cramped, with a curtain and a floor drain that was easy to slip on, and the fridge was shared, so people took other guests' drinks. The room was uncomfortably hot day and night, with no air conditioning and a ceiling fan that barely moved any air. Dust from the fan fell onto the sheets, which was disgusting. Towels were changed every four days, though everywhere else I've stayed changed them daily. I've been in both one and three star hotels with basic comforts like air conditioning and a fridge in the room. This was a terrible experience.

Breakfast is served at a hotel 150 meters away, and the linens are only changed every four days. The bathroom has no shower stall, just a curtain and a floor drain, so water runs across the floor toward the bidet. The room itself also left a lot to be desired.

There were four of us for two nights, and the room bore little resemblance to the photos or description online. The website and Booking.com both showed air conditioning, but when we arrived the only source of cool air was a ceiling fan. It was so hot that we put our mattresses out on the balcony.

We had a lovely, relaxing two weeks and have just checked out. The food was excellent, and the staff were so kind, friendly, and helpful. Our room was very clean and had a ceiling fan. The attic rooms also have air conditioning. We'll definitely return!
