Hotel Victoria Maiorino

The breakfast was poor, and every morning we worried about what we could eat. We ended up having only toast. The staff seemed indifferent, and the owner was aggressive toward our kids. At night he walked around the rooms and told us off for going from one room to another. We stayed for 10 days, and it was the worst experience ever. The hotel is very old, with wooden windows that we were afraid to close in case they broke. The seats and mattresses were also far too old. My back hurt in the morning, and the mattresses felt 50 years old. It was dirty, there was hair in the bathroom, and the room smelled shut up and old. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The owner welcomed us and helped with every request, and the service was friendly. We parked for free, just ringing the bell to get in or out, and they responded right away. This is a unique, historic hotel, aged but well handled. Water pressure and temperature were perfect, and the mattress was the best I had on this trip. I slept really well. The location is great. There's also a big dog named cello, pronounced like that, and we played with him for a bit. I'd come back if I visit the coast again.

The courtyard restaurant served a delicious dinner, and we loved watching families come out to meet in the evenings. Shops and other restaurants were an easy walk away. Our rooms were pretty and really comfortable, overlooking the courtyard, with a brilliant mountain view. From arrival to departure, the staff went out of their way to help. When the restaurant wasn't open, they even made us a sandwich. Thanks to everyone and the owners for a wonderful two-night stay, and for the tasty homemade limoncello. We'll be back.

The building has that charming, classic Italian hotel style. Our room on the third floor was clean and nice, though it could use refurbishing. Breakfast had lots of good dishes, but could do with some healthier choices. The staff were among the friendliest I've come across. The front desk team especially did everything they could to help us. Thanks for a great stay, Martina at reception.
