Local people pointed us to Hotel Firmino after delays at Mt Blanc Tunnel left us searching for somewhere to stay late in the evening. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. It was nearly 11pm, but they still made us a pizza, which was great and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was continental, with meats, cheese, fruit and more. The room was basic but did the job. The staff are what made the stay such a pleasure.

A simple, casual restaurant with hearty, good-quality food at a very good price. It’s especially busy at lunchtime, with lots of workers and lorry drivers, but service is quick and friendly. They have a good midday menu Monday to Friday and serve pizza at lunch too. It isn’t an elegant atmosphere. I’m giving it four stars compared with similar restaurants, not as an international rating.

The rooms are large, clean, and good value for money. Management is friendly and helpful, though very few people speak English.

Clean place, good food, and reasonable prices. I’d recommend it to anyone.

I waited far too long for my pizza, and it feels like they treat people who aren’t regular customers unfairly.
