The Green Park Hotel Wellness Spa

The staff seem to know what you want just by looking at you. It’s a great place to slow down and relax, with a lovely breakfast and really good local Italian food.

The staff were excellent and did everything they could to make our stay a good one. We’d absolutely book this superb hotel again. The beach is only a short walk away, and there are bars, restaurants and a very good Spa onsite. Prices were reasonable and portions generous: a litre of nice prosecco was 10 euros, standard bottles were 15 euros and a pint of beer was about 5 euros. We had an excellent bathroom and a modern, well-laid-out room. We paid extra for a balcony, though with the hotel this good it probably wasn’t needed. Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had. There’s parking outside and in the underground car park. The pool areas were excellent, with lots for kids to do if you have them along. The Spa is well worth a visit too. For 25 euro a day, we enjoyed the heated pool, huge sauna, Turkish bath and more, especially on our cloudy day.

The food was very good and the staff were friendly, but the service wasn’t good. You could see and feel everywhere that we were there outside the main season. The village area was dirty, lots of things were closed, including the lounge and outdoor pool area, and the sun beds were taken away from the beach on our second day. I wouldn’t recommend coming outside the main season, though it gets very full during it. We booked for three adults and one two-year-old child, and the booking site calculated the full half-board price for the child. Now they say it was the booking site’s fault and they can’t do anything about it. It’s always someone else’s fault, and they say they can’t change anything. We booked and paid for everything, and got less than we paid for. The booking site said it was a private beach, but now the hotel says it can’t influence what happens there.

The private beach, with an umbrella and bed included, was amazing, and the room is still my favorite hotel room in all of Italy. But I got food poisoning after lunch at the hotel restaurant, which was a disappointing way to end an otherwise amazing stay. I just wish I hadn’t got so sick at the end.
